On Friday, April 27th, I will be hosting a fundraiser for my Get Your Rear In Gear campaign at Buona Vita Restaurant and Bar. Buona Vita is located at 3419 Toringdon Way, in the shopping center at the corner of North Community House and Johnston Roads (Earth Fare and Red Robin are the corner tenants). Here are some highlights planned for Friday night:
- Drink specials are $2 domestic beer bottles and a special vodka mix to match the Get Your Rear In Gear colors; $2 from the sale of each vodka special will go towards the fundraiser
- Raffle tickets will be sold for $1 each, 6 tickets for $5, 12 tickets for $10, and 25 tickets for $20
- Winners do not need to be present at the time of the raffle drawing
- Raffle prizes include Buona Vita gift cards, lawn care service, men’s and women’s haircuts, bottles of wine, gift packs from a local distributor, and other gift cards and prizes to be determined
- There will be a cornhole tournament with the winners and runners-up receiving gift cards to Buona Vita; the entry cost for the tournament will be $5 a team
- Food specials include the regular happy hour specials menu located on the wall on the right side of the bar
- The other food special will be a large pizza and 12 chicken wings for $19.95; a perfect meal for you and a couple co-workers
- My good friend Megan will have cupcakes from her side business Belligerent Baker; the flavors will be Brown Ale Nutmeg and White Russian (check out her page on Facebook and contact her for desserts for your next event)
- Along with these specials, you will find the usual fun, friendly, neighborhood atmosphere Buona Vita offers
There is no cover cost, but donation forms will be available to complete and turn in with a donation. If you just want to add a couple dollars on top of your tab at the end of the night, please notify your waiter, waitress, or bartender and they can collect it.
I’m looking forward to the event and would like to thank generous support from family and friends who have donated already.
A big thank you also needs to be given to the owners and staff at Buona Vita. Whether it be for lunch, dinner, or an after work drink with co-workers, please support this high-quality neighborhood establishment. The primary reason I chose them was because I have seen how the owners and staff have hosted fundraisers and other events in the past and how much they genuinely care about hosting and actively generating enthusiasm for these events. They are good people with good food who have done a lot of work behind the scenes to make this event a success.
